汉中市勉县武侯墓博物馆院内生长的两株汉桂，为木樨科木樨属常绿灌木，位于武侯墓西头两侧，史称“护墓双桂”，高分别为16米和15米，胸围分别达3.80米和3.39米，树龄超过1700年。据《忠武侯祠墓志》载：两株丹桂为蜀汉炎兴元年（公元263年）栽植，为“蜀汉以来少见的结籽桂树”。每年8月桂花花开，花色金黄，香飘四野，沁人心脾，清可洗尘，香能溢远，故有“十里定军草木香”的美誉。这两株汉桂更为神奇的地方是，同月之中，桂花有连开三至四次的奇观。另据民间传闻，“谁能拾得桂籽，以后将生贵子”，因而每年清明时节，有不少新婚夫妇，特别是婚后未孕的男女，就去武侯墓“汉桂”树下草丛中寻拾桂籽，若能拾得一颗，即欣喜若狂，如获至宝，期盼武侯显灵，食而喜得贵子。双桂为陕西桂花树王。
The double osmanthus fragrans live in Wuhou Museum of Mian County, Hanzhong City. They feature an age of some 1700 years, a height of 14 meters and 16 meters respectively, a girth of 380 cm and 339 cm respectively. It is miraculous that the osmanthus blossoms three to four times within one month. The seeds of the osmanthus are usually associated with the birth of sons. Around Tomb-sweeping day every year, many young couples come under the tree, trying to find some tree seeds, a sign for giving birth to sons.
